Today, I let you go,
the sky is brighter,
sea-like,
the clouds are waves,
the breeze silky,
teasing your memory,
Still I let you go.
The three birds scream at me,
I see their soft beige heads
through my transparent flowered curtains,
They chirp at me, faces raw in the wind as they sang "why are you letting him go?"
And then you were released,
like stars in a blanket of
Deep black midnight,
I sent you to them,
they'll hold you firmer,
tighter than I ever knew how,
fishnet tight in a twinkle of
Quickening light,
And just like that
I'm a stargazer.
