Mary Wagner, MFT, Bereavement Counselor

Since 2002, Mary has been a bereavement counselor here at Hospice of Santa Barbara. Mary began her career in health services in 1996, working as a therapist for a senior psychiatric facility in Visalia. Mary holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in physical education from UCSB, and a master’s degree in counseling from the University of San Francisco. Last year Mary was given the Older Worker of the Year award by the Area Agency on Aging for her counseling work with the elderly. Of her work, Mary says, “I have been honored by the intimacy and honesty my clients have been willing to share with me. They have truly been my teachers in growing as a therapist and as a person.”
