Liz LaCasto, LMFT, Bereavement Counselor
Starting in 2018, Liz has been working with young people in three schools (San Marcos High School, La Colina Junior High, and La Cumbre Junior High), bringing grief counseling to campus for kids who wouldn’t otherwise receive services. She also provides therapy for kids and adults in the HSB office. Liz has always been interested in helping expand the language around death and debunk the notion that it is taboo. She loves that HSB provides services for free, which makes it accessible for youth so they can learn how to express themselves in the midst of grief. Liz has completed traineeships and internships at various agencies such as Salvation Army, Project Recovery Detox, and CALM, and has a small private practice. Liz holds a B.A. from UCSB and an M.A. from Antioch University. Liz is a licensed private pilot and skydiver, a certified rescue scuba diver, and a certified yoga teacher. She also enjoys backpacking and snowboarding.
