Charles Caldwell, Director of Strategic Advancement

Charles has responsibilities across several areas, including development, marketing, strategic planning, programs, and finance. As a naturally curious person, Charles enjoys acquiring new knowledge, improving systems, and creating innovative solutions to prickly problems. Before coming to HSB, Charles spent seven years with Girls Inc. of Greater Santa Barbara as the director of advancement, and ten years with United Way of Santa Barbara County as the director of special projects. Charles is moved by HSB’s relationship-centric approach to walking with people through the difficult journey of grief and illness. Charles holds an M.A. in mythological studies from Pacifica Graduate Institute, and has been with Hospice of Santa Barbara since August 2015. In his spare time, he enjoys fly fishing.
