Alejandro Vasquez, Registered Associate MFT, Bilingual Bereavement Counselor
Alejandro provides bilingual counseling to young people at La Cuesta Continuation High School, Los Prietos Boys Camp, Carpinteria High School, Rincon Continuation School, Carpinteria Middle School, and Canalino Elementary School. He also provide services to families at the HSB office. He wanted to be part of the HSB team because he knows there is a need for bilingual staff (particularly males) regarding the topic of death and bereavement within the Latino population. Before coming to HSB in 2016, Alejandro was employed at Community Action Commission for 15 years, and also worked for CADA and Santa Barbara Probation Department. He has a master's degree in clinical psychology with a focus on working with the Latino population. In his spare time, Alejandro enjoys listening to music, specifically Salsa. He also likes cooking, which he considers therapeutic. He also likes going for walks at the beach and meditating.
